2 Great Strategies For Weight Loss and Good Health 

       Enjoy all the delicious fresh fruits, berries, melons, and veggies from the garden if you’re lucky, or the grocery.

    July is a great time to think of trimming some pounds. We want to look like a Million Dollars in swimsuits and shorts, so we need ideas to help us enjoy our meals and slim down, too.

   These MILLION DOLLAR HEALTH TIPS  will really help! 

1.           Fewer desserts and Sugar

This can prevent Cancer and help you live longer!

 

·        Excess blood sugar provides the best environment for cancer to grow. (B. Sears, “The Omega Zone,”  p.151)

 

·       Diabetics age one-third faster than other people when blood sugars are poorly managed. (N.  Perricone, “The Perricone Prescription, 2001,

       p. 34)

 

·       When you continually eat large amounts of refined carbohydrates and sugary foods your body will produce more and more insulin to take care of the sugar in your blood. In time, this process becomes ineffective resulting in Type II Diabetes. (C. Northrup, “The Wisdom of Menopause,” p.200)

 

·       Elevated insulin can cause loss of concentration, mood swings,  fatigue,  uncontrollable hunger. (Daoust, “40-30-30 Fat Burning Nutrition, p.25) 

·       Delicious desserts can be made without using Sugar. Instead use Splenda or Stevia.  

·        Kay Witt used AGAVE NECTAR, to prepare  a fabulous Chocolate Pecan Pie during our visit with them in June.    

           We’d never heard of AGAVE NECTAR (it is also called Agave honey). It is made from the juice of the Agave cactus. It tastes great - and  has a low glycemic index that is beneficial.Their website tells where to buy it and more information:

2.           Drink more Water and Tea

 

This isn’t just a “nice” idea. It may prevent Cancer!

 When my husband, Bill, was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, one instruction paper from the Urology Specialist, said “Don’t drink any milk. Milk is hard on the Prostate. Drink Herbal Teas or water at every meal.”   

 

·       Water is vital for all of the functions in your body. 

·       Carries nutrients to your cells

·       Removes toxins from your cells

·       Even mild dehydration will cause a 3% drop in metabolism causing a one-pound weight gain every 6 months. (N. Perricone, “The Perricone Prescription,” 2002, p.72 

·       Provides moisture for your skin. (Pamela Peeke, “Fight Fat After Forty,” 2000, p. 155.)  

·       Lubricates your joints! The joints are covered with cartilage that is about 80% water. Don Colbert points out that if this becomes dehydrated, arthritis will develop. (“What Would Jesus Eat?” 2002, p.123-124) 

·       Avoid drinking tap water. Most counties treat water with Chlorine and Fluoride. Fluoride has been found to cause memory loss and other medical problems. (More about this coming in future E-zines.)  

·       Drink 4 to 8 glasses of purified water a day. Tap water can be boiled for 5-10 minutes, killing bacteria and parasites. Then, cool uncovered several hours – allowing the Chlorine taste and Fluoride to dissipate.  

·       Many people are turning to bottled water. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has the responsibility for its quality and safety. The specific requirements were revised in April 1997.
